Captain Cox has more than 45 years experience in the cruise, ferry and port sectors of maritime. He is a former senior executive with Admiral Cruises, the cruise line merged with Royal Caribbean in the late 1980's. For over 17 years, Captain Cox has been involved in a range of consulting assignments that have taken him around the world studying cruise and ferry operations, and terminal and port development. He has reviewed facilities for major ship and ferry owners, cruise line clients and private developers, and has analyzed port operations in the North America, Mexico, North Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, He understands both the operational and the financial aspects of cruise vessels and terminal management.  

Cox is the former President of the Northwest CruiseShip Association and the Alaska Steamship Association. Cox maintains contacts with senior level executives of all the major cruise lines. He has an unmatched depth and breath of maritime experience both as Master with his own vessel command and shore-side. He is a graduate of the California Maritime Academy with a B.S,. in Marine Sciences, and majored in international business, transportation, marketing and accounting at the University of Washington, Seattle and the California State University at San Francisco.

As a former senior vice president of Western Cruise Lines and Admiral Cruises (both owned by the Gotaas-Larsen Group of London) he is highly knowledgeable and fully versed in the management and operations of cruise ship and Ro-Ro passenger vessels, and of shore-side marine terminals and facilities. 

In addition to his cruise line experience, Cox was Secretary of Los Angeles Cruise Ship Terminals, Inc. and President of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based Northwest Cruise Ship Association.  Captain Cox continuously maintains contacts with senior level executives of major cruise lines, ferry companies and ports throughout the world, and brings TMG’s clients an unmatched depth and breadth of maritime, shipping and port related experience.


 

   
 
   

Captain Malcolm W. Parrott,              Master Mariner, FRIN FCILT FNI

3 (Custom).JPG                                                                       Captain Parrott has been proactive within the global shipping industry for over 42 years specializing in the Fast Ferry and RoRo sectors with considerable experience in both merchant and military shipping. His seagoing career spanned 24 years, nearly half of which was spent in command of container vessels, RoRo ferries and cruise ships.

He has also seen service in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (RFA) of the Royal Navy (RN) as a senior officer. He was a director and senior manager within the Sea Containers organization where he worked in Operations, General & Commercial Management and Ship Broking during his career there. Captain Parrott was at the very cutting edge of high speed craft, having set up and developed many routes for Sea Containers or their clients throughout the world. He was Operations Director for Hoverspeed Limited (part of the Sea Containers Group), the world’s leading high speed operator during the later part of the 20th century. Captain Parrott has been involved at an organizational level with the IMO, MCA and the British and International Chambers of Shipping.

He is a graduate of Henley Business College and is an International professional administrator, believing in teamwork and strong leadership. Captain Parrott holds a current UK Maritime & Coast Guard Administration (MCA) STCW 2/II Class 1 Master Mariner (unlimited) license, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, currently serves as the Immediate Past Master (IPM) of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners (a city of London Livery Company) and a Younger Brother of The Corporation of Trinity House.

William (Bill) Anonsen, has over 33 years of experience in a wide range of maritime services, including ship agency husbandry, senior management with major shipping companies, and government service contract maritime transportation projects. Bill is the principal overseeing TMG’s Pacific Basin operations with offices geographically based in Honolulu. Hawaii’s central location appropriately bridges the times zones of the eastern and western Pacific, and more importantly the diversity of global cultures and international trading partners.

The Pacific group is heavily focused on consultancy services to government and private sector agencies in the areas of port development and infrastructure improvement projects, port security, terminal and vessel management. 

Previously, Mr. Anonsen served as the Director of Port Operations – Hawaii for NCL America, and as part of the senior management team, established new company operations to support start-up operations of new U.S. flagged cruise ship operations in Hawaii.  Prior to NCL, Mr. Anonsen served on contract as a Maritime Operations Specialist to the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation.  His responsibilities included development of immediate and long-term statewide port security measures; development of cruise ship terminal and infrastructure improvements; and liaison actions with the State of Hawaii commercial harbor users in statewide port development improvement initiatives and identifying areas of concerns.

From 1974 to November 2001, Mr. Anonsen worked for various maritime companies, including American Classic Voyages Co. (American Hawaii Cruises/United States Lines) where he served as Vice President-Maritime Affairs, Prior to American Classic Voyages, he worked for Sause Brothers, Matson Navigation Company, and Theo Davies Marine Agencies where he had operational oversight of company vessels and the management of marine logistics and terminal support operations. Mr. Anonsen attended the State University of New York – Maritime College and the American Military University.

Captain Wilson is a chartered experienced Marine Engineer with over 40 years experience in  seagoing, and a Fleet Technical Management and Marine Engineering consultancy.

Captain Wilson spent four years 2001-05 with a major UK defense related company BAE SYSTEMS, as an engineering consultant directing a team of multi disciplined engineers involved in design change and alterations in Royal Navy  and Royal Fleet Auxiliary Vessels The work included fuel and cargo handling systems and related environmental and safety issues.

His sea going experience was over 30 years having joined the Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (RFA) of the Royal Navy (RN), as an Engineer Cadet rising to the rank of Captain (E). He served in all classes of RFA ships including  fuel tankers, solid stores support and logistic vessels. During the period 1992/97 he was the Senior Technical Superintendent responsible for the technical management of the RFA Flotilla of 22 ships.

Captain Wilson holds a UK Maritime & Coast Guard Agency (MCA) STCW 2/II Class 1 Marine Engineer (Steam and Motor unlimited) license, is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Marine Engineer, and member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).

Captain Johnson  has dual Nationality, British and Australian and has spent his working life at sea. Starting as a Deck Cadet in 1957 at the School of Navigation Southampton and retiring as Master on cruise liners in 2006. His experience includes service in Refrigerated, General Cargo, Oil Tankers, Ro-Ro vessels, Container Vessels and Landing Craft.

Captain Johnson spent 15 years in the Oil Offshore Industry, mainly in Australia and Asia as Master on Offshore Support Vessels but also as Master on a variety of other Oil Industry vessels. In 1994 he was transferred to a Cruise Liner as Staff Captain with the same company. Deciding that the life was to his liking, he was promoted to Master and spent the rest of his sea-going career of 13 years in that rank.

Captain Johnson holds a current Australian Maritime Safety Administration (AMSA) STCW 2/II Class 1 Master Mariner (unlimited) license and  is a member of the Nautical Institute.

Roland Gurney, has spent the whole of his working life in shipping having joined Mathews Wrightson Burbidge directly from school and thereafter held positions within several major London broking houses  including directorships at T W Tamplin and Wake Marine. He also held membership of the London Baltic Exchange prior to  establishing  his own company, based in Cambridge, England in November 2001.

During his career he has been involved in the contracting of new buildings and the Sale and Purchase of second hand container vessels, product tankers, chemical tankers, bulk carriers, general cargo vessels, tugs, barges and offshore vessels and latterly ferries (including High Speed Craft) and cruise ships, also the sale of tonnage for conversion or demolition. He has thus obtained a wide in depth knowledge of the Ship Sale & Purchase market.
