Hawaii Senate confirms Anonsen as Advisory Council chair

TMG StateSpeech 2

One of our Managing Partners, William “Bill” Anonsen, has been re-elected as Chair of the Hawaii Advisory Council on Emergency Management.

Bill was unanimously supported by all 25 Senators for his Senate Confirmation completed on April 21, 2017 to continue for a second full, four-year term as the chair of the council. He has served on the advisory council for six years, the last four years as its chair. This second term will expire June 30, 2021.

Bill, who is based in Honolulu, is Managing Partner/Principal for The Maritime Group in the Pacific.

The Hawaii Advisory Council on Emergency Management was established in 1951 and serves as an advisory body and resource to the Governor and the Director of Emergency Management on issues and concerns pertaining to emergency management, preparedness, emergency response and recovery after a natural disaster or emergency incident.

The council consists of seven members nominated by the governor. The Senate Committee on Public Safety, Intergovernmental, and Military Affairs conducts an ‘Advise and Consent’ hearing to review the qualifications of each nominee.

The committee provides all senators a recommendation prior to the full Senate confirmation vote.

In addition, Bill serves on a number of other boards for organizations concerned with public safety as well as charities and non-profit organisations.

Congratulations from all at TMG to Bill on his re-appointment. He is a valuable asset to this very crucial council as well as TMG where he is a longstanding and valued Partner who has played a key role in the development of the business.
